Elena Cumes

Introducing Elena Cumes, a compassionate and dedicated member of our team at Cultiva International. At 37 years old, Elena balances her role with us alongside the joys and responsibilities of being a loving mother to her three daughters, ages 17, 15, and 7. She resides with her parents and daughters, creating a warm and supportive environment for her family.

Born in Solola, Elena’s journey into the world began with the assistance of a midwife, highlighting her deep connection to traditional practices and community values. With a thirst for knowledge and a desire to make a positive impact in her community, Elena pursued a career in accounting. She spent four years working as a Health Facilitator at the Health Center of Solola, providing vital support and services to those in need.

Driven by her passion for improving the well-being of others, Elena decided to further expand her skill set and returned to school to study nursing for one year. It was during this time that she was approached by Juan, our Field Director, who recognized Elena’s dedication and expertise. Impressed by her commitment to learning and her desire to share her experiences and knowledge, Juan invited Elena to join the team at Cultiva. In May of 2020, Elena embraced this opportunity and became an integral part of our organization.

Elena’s decision to join our team was fueled by her genuine love for sharing experiences and knowledge with her community. She is deeply passionate about gardening and agriculture, constantly seeking to enhance her understanding of sustainable practices and improve the lives of those around her. Her unwavering dedication to learning and her eagerness to foster growth in others make her an invaluable asset to our organization.

Since joining Cultiva, Elena has brought her unique perspective and expertise to the forefront, contributing to the success of our initiatives. Her nurturing nature and commitment to providing support and care align perfectly with our mission. Elena’s remarkable ability to connect with others and her deep-rooted understanding of community dynamics make her an exceptional team member.

When Elena is not working, she finds joy in spending quality time with her daughters and family. She cherishes the opportunity to cultivate a sense of togetherness and instill important values in her children.
